Recently I noticed that the Yahoo! push email doesn't seem to be pushing to my iPhone. I tried a few test messages from another account and after 10 minutes, nothing has shown up on my iPhone (it's showing up on Yahoo! though).

Does anybody else have this problem?

Disregard my last...a reset fixed it.

My dad's iPhone had the same issue, restoring it fixed it.

The reset/restore seems to fix the problem temporarily...I'm having the same issue again.

It's not a critical feature, as I have my mail set to check every hour. Still, it's a feature that is promoted as one of the iPhone benefits, and yet it seems to fail regularly. I suppose this is one of those "early adopter" issues, but thankfully (hopefully?) it can be corrected in software.

Do you have any other email accounts active on the phone? That seems to mess things up.

How did you set the Yahoo account to check mail once an hour? On my father's iPhone it's push only; unlike the other accounts there is no place to set the frequency to check the Yahoo account.

I think he's talking about the general Mail setting.

That is correct...my other three e-mail accounts check for mail once per hour. The Yahoo! account, which should be push, seems to get mail when I go to the Mail application and the iPhone polls the other accounts.

I could remove the other accounts temporarily and see if that helps things.

I have only the Yahoo email specified in the phone, and also notice that emails aren't pushing reliably.

Yahoo "push" is just IMAP+IDLE, so it's entirely possible the connection could just time-out and take 15-30 mins before the client realizes this and reestablishes the connection.

I'm not sure how closely Yahoo implements the LEMONADE profile for mobile mail, but a quick reference: LEMONADE for Mobiles

(Ressurecting a semi-old thread, may the forum gods look kindly on a foole)

I installed the 1.1.1 update, and decided to see if there was any improvement in the "push" e-mail. Two test messages took less than a minute to arrive via Yahoo! mail. Hardly conclusive, since I did the update only 24 hrs ago and my Y! account is pretty low-volume.

Has anybody else noticed any changes in performance?
