Getting the firewire error with speaker docks...

I've had this happen on multiple iPods now (just had mine replaced). 5G 60gb video iPod and when it's on my Griffin Amplifi speaker dock, it keeps going into the "Firewire connections are not supported" msg and when I hit center to dismiss, the message comes back up. The songs also sort of skip when this happens. Has anyone seen this? Is it an iPod software glitch or a glitch with my speaker dock system?
