I went to the beach last weekend with my iPhone (i know, i know, i didn't want to but i needed to be near it). I had to think of some way to keep it protected (i have no case) and the best idea I came up with was to keep it in a Ziplock bag. I figured i would leave it in there and just check messages/missed calls. Well I got a call and decided to answer through the Ziplock bag and guess what? I could hear/talk perfectly fine through it! The screen worked great too. Just thought i'd pass that along. People thought i looked ridiculous when they saw me talking to a plastic bag but as soon as they found out what it was, it wasn't so ridiculous looking any more...

I would also leave it in the condo... if you're at the beach why even bring a cell phone? Whenever I'm on vacation I want to be as unreachable as possible.

Amen to that. Last thing I want to hear when I'm on the beach is my phone ringing. But if I had to take it to the beach, a plastic baggie would be a must. I can't imagine what a bunch of sand would do to the iPhone. <cringe>

Interesting, I've never known girls to track in more sand than guys.

And, living at the beach, I have to say that a cell phone is indispensable for trying to locate people. Sand all looks the same and you can walk forever trying to identify someone in the red bikini with the blue umbrella.

More places for it to get stuck.

Forgot to mention that we drove straight up on the beach, so it sat in the car the entire time... I never had it on me.
