By accident, I discovered that I can delete individual emails without entering Edit mode by dragging my finger horizontally across a given email in list view.

I don't remember hearing about this before, so sorry if it's old news. Anyone else notice this before?

It's the same with text messages too, incase you didn't know that one.

However, you can't do it in notes, which seems weird to me.

How can I delete more than one message at a time? And in email can I mark all read?

Can't and no.

I feel your pain, brother. I wish to heck we could, especially when the Gmail starts piling up, but no love. Maybe in iPhone Mark 2.

I'd have to think it will be released in a software update in the future. That seems like an obvious need that can be addressed well before the next model is released...
