I cannot seem to charge my iPod using the Griffin iPod power adapter on some of my outlets and sometimes. When I plug it into the iPod using available outlets at my computer area, the iPod charges for a second (displays either the lightning or the fork icon) and then refuses to charge. Yet whenever I play around with the firmness of the Griffin device, it'll repeat the process again. But when I tested the unit by my TV setup, it worked fine and charged continuously.

This problem is unusual, because before moving, I had the power adapter right by my computer setup, and it worked, and I have not damaged the adapter during the move. I have almost exactly the same computer setup as before, except that I also have a wireless router plugged in. But I know that no abnormalities should result from that.

What's going on? Why is the adapter being so selective all of a sudden?

(I did a search on the forums to see if this or a similar problem had already been posted, but when I searched using the term "power" for thread titles, then selected the iPod forum and clicked on the "Search" button, I was redirected back to the search page and was not given a summary of results or even a "No results found" message. What's going on there?)

Problem identified: My power adapter has gone bad. Time to buy a new one.

Now that pisses me off. Griffith's products are supposed to last way longer than 2 years, right?

Oh, and I tried pressing the power prongs together a bit to see if it worked better in the outlets that I tested, but nope, it's time for a replacement it seems.

Sometimes you just have to let your wallet take a hit.
