I heard that members of a business plan aren't eligible to use the iPhone. This true?
If so, I'm in a weird situation.

I don't think that's true.

True.
If your account is part of a FAN, AT&T will not let you activate your iPhone on that account. You'll need a second (personal) account.

Businesses allow camera phones on property?
The three I've worked for don't.

Some do, some don't. I know that Nike allows camera phones (some employees have bought iPhones, even though Nike doesn't officially support it yet), so I would imagine other companies of that size and influence also do.

That is true, you can not have business discount if you have iPhone on your account. Both my wife and I moved from T-Mobile. I setup account for her first and each one of us is eligible for business discount from our different employers. I set up discount before getting iPhone. iTunes would not let me activate iPhone with the FAN on the account even though we had different names.
I had to go back to the store and they discovered that discount had to be dropped for me to activate the iPhone. The store offered to put it back after activation and they did it. But when I called later AT@T to complain about bad coverage they discovered the FAN and took it off again.
So even though my wife does not have iPhone, has a phone in her name and is eligible for discount from her employer she can not get it because I have it on our shared plan.

I had a business discount before I got the iPhone... I bought the phone the day it came out and I couldnt use it until Sunday and I blame the business discount for interfering with my activation.

I have an iPhone on a personal account, and 16 business account lines which I administer. AT&T will not allow me to transfer the iPhone to one of the business account plans. They say the reason is not because it can't be associated with the FAN, they say the iPhone can not exist on a plan associated with a Tax ID number instead of a social security number.
Of course, I sat down with the reps and explained what I wanted a couple of days prior to the iPhone launch, and they said it would be no problem. After I activated 17 lines, now they tell me they can't do it :|
