im wondering since the iPod now has WiFi, why didn't apple use the iPod as an extension of their "media hub".
they want the mac to be the center of things in your house. why not let the iPod access your mac's shared music and video when you are at home just like AppleTV or another Mac/PC using iTunes/Front Row?
i really want an iPod Touch, but that feature would add SO much more value and functionality.

It may be added later.

Remember this iPod uses OS X and Apple will probably add features over time. Just like they have said they will on the iPhone and Apple TV.

I expect we will see the following added quite quickly :-

- Google Maps
- Widgets (Weather, Stocks, etc)

Google Maps makes no sense on a device that doesn't actually have an internet connection when you need it.
