Yesterday, I took my 4 GB iPhone (purchased on Jun. 29) to an Apple Genius for a touch screen issue. She looked at it and pointed first to the Silent/Ring switch. She said "Did you put this on here?" I couldn't imagine what she was talking about. She whipped out her iPhone and pointed to the same switch, save the little white bell that was on mine. I looked at all the phones in store and none had the little white bell on the Silent/Ring switch except mine. Does anyone have this same symbol?

Mine does not have it (8 gig). There were some postings about this right after the release on the Apple support forums... seemed to be completely random, although, there did seem to be more bells showing up on the 4 gig models.

Could be the difference between an AT&T store iPhone and an Apple Store iPhone. AT&T iPhones have the bell?

I did indeed purchase mine (with the bell) at an AT&T store on launch day. It's so small its hard to get a good picture of it... will try again when I get home.

Thanks for the responses.

No bell, just a small red dot. Definitely interested in seeing a pic.

I can't get a good pic. of my own... very hard to get the camera to focus on such a small spot.

I did find this via Google Image that shows the while bell if you look closely.

I made it so the image would show (although you can only just barely see anything in the picture).

I bought 2 at an AT&T store and neither had the bell.

My 4GB iPhone doesn't have the bell symbol either. It was bought on June 30th at my local Apple Store. That's it...I want another refund! LOL! Just kidding.
