I purchased an iPod Video 30GB at a yard sale for 30 bucks.. they said they couldnt get sound out of the headphone jack.. I did an iPod restore still no avail.. any ideas what would cause this

It might be the headphone socket that has come away from the PCB...

is there still no sound of you 'wiggle' the headphone jack?

not a sound even if i wiggle the jack.. Im gonna test and see if the dock connector audio output works off to walmart to find an iPod car charger with fm transmitter

That's what I was going to suggest. If the headphone jack is shot, it's quite possible that it will still play through the dock. Before you buy iTrip, however, i'd test it out. If you have any iPod speaker systems or know anyone who has one or an iTrip, I'd use theirs before spending the money on your own iTrip, because you very well may have a dead iPod.

Yeah im only using it in my truck.. so if the headphone jack is toast so be it.. walmart has a good return policy thank god.. I only paid 30 bones for it so it was worth picking up.. Ill just get a dock for at home
