I dont like itunes new less options forl the iphone. Like the missing checkbox "manage files on iphone" that the ipod has. If I delete a file from my computer I dont want it to sync that change I just want to keep the file as I see fit.

Is their a better app for this ?

I have never seen that checkbox.

Are you talking about disk mode, or are you talking about song/video/photo auto-syncing vs. managing them by hand?

The former doesn't exist because the iPhone can only be connected to a single computer, and certainly doesn't make sense as a back-up device.

The latter is there, AFAIK.

Yeah spot on. I was just hoping someone has made a different app that allows access to the iphone to drag and drop files as they see fit like you can do by default on ipods.

I have not had the best of times tracking down a good site to read about the latest and greatest apps for iphone yet

You can't manually manage files on the iPhone, but you can set up a playlist or playlists and use that for syncing. It's basically the same thing.

Yeah, but he's saying if he wants to put a movie on the phone, and then delete it from the computer, he wants it to stay on the phone the next time it syncs.

And AFAIK, this isn't possible without hacking. I agree it kind of sucks, I'd rather manually manage my music any day (since I can't put it all on there).

What do you mean, "spot on"? It was an EITHER/OR question!

I still don't know what you're asking.

Drat.. I hate not having options that clearly worked on older models. But I do not have much hope since they NEVER fixed the option to tel you view files as cover flow coming from the ipod on itunes nor allow ipod to work in the Party shuffle ........... Grrrrrrrrrr
