On several occasions i've imported pix from my iPhone to iPhoto and have been able to edit and email them.

More recently, I took a couple family pix i'd like to keep, but although they import into iPhoto (they show in thumbnails library view) and although the "information" dropdown indicates they're JPEGs 1200 x 1600, like other images from iPhone, these particular images can't be edited or emailed. When I initiate either of those processes, i get a gray window with a square outlined in dashes, with an exclamation mark in the middle.

"Info" in iPhoto shows the images as JPEG 1200 x 1600, just standard iPhoto specs and nothing to suggest they're different from pix i CAN edit and email.

Any idea a) why this happened and b) how i can recover these several images?

I believe if you right click (or control click) on an image in the browser view, there will be an option to see the image in the finder. Try opening it in preview and see what happens.

I wonder if there is some sort of permissions problem happening here. Maybe the permissions on those photos are messed up for some reason.
