Possible backlash of iPhones re-imported back to the US?

	Is it possible that in a dreaded essential firmware upgrade, all unlocked iPhones (mostly being used away from their country of origin), become a brick in a non-AT&T network. Is it possible, in that case, that desperate international users, start eBaying their 'useless' iPhones at, let's say, 50% loss. Would you buy, if you were a resident of such AT&T country?
