I hope these aren't TOO common:
1) Flash sites are a no-go because the thing doesn't support the flash plugin, right? What about pages w/ Java applets? Windows Media?
One of the things I would be doing with it is checking my fantasy sports scores... flash/java are heavy. a lot of the sports sites i visit (espn, mlb, nfl etc) have a lot of flash in their pages.
2) Is the size of your music collection the ONLY reason to go with 16 GB over 8 GB? I don't really need much more than 512 MB - 1 GB for music. I only carry a few songs I fall in love with; recycle in/out often.

1) Haha, that's cute. Now way.
2) Resale value and future usage (music, music videos, podcasts/video podcasts, TV shows, movies) are reasons to buy the 16GB.

What good is an internet that doesn't support Flash, Java, and less importantly, Windows Media?
Flash and Java are essential to any internet experience.

To you, and others, yes; but not to everyone.

I think everyone will run into a page within 3 days of their iPhone use that they will be just a tad miffed about the fact that they can't use it.

A lot of the major sports sites, which also are among the more visited sites on the net period, use flash a LOT. Just look at espn.com or nfl.com or mlb.com. nfl.com was recently redesigned and flash is much more prevelant there. And people who want to check their fantasy sports scores? You're screwed without flash and java - Yahoo and CBS both use it in their live scoring apps.
To say "everyone" needs flash and java probably isn't fair. But the VAST majority probably use it much more than they realize. For what I do/visit on the net, I need both of them. The fact this version of Safari doesn't support them might mean I probably shouldn't buy one.
For obvious reasons, I can see why WMP isn't supported. But flash and java? cmon now.
I'd also expect/hope that Silverlight (now used on mlb.com) be supported soon... there is a Mac version.

the iphone supports java script, so I imagine the touch does as well.... to tell you the truth most sites work on the iphone pretty well. I use the mobile version of ESPN because it loads faster when not on WiFi.
