Good day all,

Well during this summer when I was flying out to Indiana to visit some family I noticed that my 30gb white iPod video would stop working at the high altitude. I would get the frowny face of death and the screen would say Apple - Support.

Just seconds after this would occur the pilot would make his speach saying we are now permitted to move around the cabin due to the fact that we reached our desired altitude.

The apple support website says to bring my iPod into an apple store and show them the problem. The only infraction with that is that as soon and the fasten seat belt sign came back on (we were decending) the ipod would begin to work again.

So my question would be, is there a way of fixing this/will apple believe my story even if they can not see the problem?

Thanks.

It should work at all times in an airplane. That's really odd that it did that.

I know that was my exact thought. I also figured that it was just a one time occurrence but it happened at the same moment flying there and back (right before pilot talks).

I have a fairly long direct flight to mexico in december and would like to use my iPod during all that air time.

Airplane cabins are pressurized, so it should make no difference to your iPod.

The cabins are pressurized to 8,500 feet. iPods are good up to 10,000 feet (I've had mine at 14,000 feet though working just fine).
