Took my ipod touch back to the store today. The genius bar guy played dumb about the screen issue, but once he punched my serial number in, was quick to take it back. No other questions or comments. I did not replace it as I will wait for a 16gb iphone to come out. Should be before xmas I hope. Thought I would pass this on.

That's good info. Thanks. I wonder what serial # range is considered bad.

I have an iTouch with a 9C737****** serial (week 37 model), and it has the screen problem. From the threads on Apple's discussion fora, it seems that it's mostly week 37 models that are affected (they might even be the only ones with the problem). I took mine to the local Apple Store on Monday, and after the Genius took a look at it for a couple of minutes, he said that there's definitely a problem, and that they'll swap it as soon as they get more models in.

Mine was a week 37 model. They didn't have any 16gb in but I wanted a refund anyway. Just sucked that I made 2 trips (50 miles each way) for it.
