I really want one now. My contract with Verizon ends in November... of next year. Right now I'm using my BlackBerry (8703e). I read a while back that AT&T has exclusive rights to the iPhone for a while, is this right?

Here in Colorado, I think T-Mobile is a bit better than AT&T. Was hoping maybe T-Mobile may get it next year.... cause I'll definitely wait. If not, I'll probably cave in and go "Early out" on my contract.

Speaking of going early out, if I want to get an iPhone but keep my current mobile number, would I just ask AT&T to transfer my number from Verizon? On the site it says it's eligible for that. And then once my number is changed, Verizon would charge me the $175, right?

Verizon would charge you the $175 if that's the early contract termination fee for you to port your number while still under Verizon contract. Porting a number cancels its current service in favor of where it's ported.

Not only higher GB, but 3G is also likely in v.2.
