I get home and I plug my phone into my dock, I go to do the new update and what not and then something goes wrong and now... I have to restore my phone deleting all my songs and contacts and all of that. It wont let me turn the phone all the way on. It gives me a screen with the iTunes icon and a picture of the cable that connects the iPhone to computer. I tried to restoring just so I can get it to turn on but it always says it can't restore.
I don't know what is wrong. Anyone facing the same problem?

Wait, so its asking you to plug it into your dock and restore it via iTunes.. but you can't do that? Or you can't get it to turn on so that you don't see that iTunes icon with the cable image?
If you restore it via iTunes, it will put all your contacts and songs and all that back on for you. But if you can't get it to even do that then I'd say bring it into Apple.

Ohh, well yeah you'll have to take it into Apple.
And yes, Apple Store will service your iPhone. AT&T stores will not. They just sell it. I would definitely bring it in to an Apple Store if you can. If they need to send your iPhone to get repaired, they will give you a loaner iPhone.

Was the phone unlocked, or did you hack it in any way (i.e. install 3rd party apps)?

That happened to me. If you are using a Windows PC, try doing the update on another computer... Or, what I did was, uninstall your USB ports in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows reinstall them. Something went crazy when mi iPhone was in recovery mode and both methods worked.

Alright, I went to Apple today and they replaced my phone. I got a brand new 8GB iPhone and everything is going swell.
