Ok, I know there are a ton of videos going around with people rubbing hard objects all over their iPt, but I have this very annoying scratch down the center of my screen which is the result of my phone rubbing up against it accidentally. Now I only see this rainbow colored line down the center of my screen.
I would like to know if this is something my 1 year warranty would cover, or if there are any fixes for this?
Have a look at the following link for a shot of it.

accidental damage is NOT covered by the warranty. You'll need to pay for the repair.

Unfortunately, that won't be covered by warranty as it's accidental cosmetic damage (albeit an annoying one) caused by you and not a manufacturer's defect, which is what the warranty would address. Hopefully someone has a suggestion for minimizing it in some way.

yeah ive seen those videos to implying that the screen on the ipt is indistructable, but i knew it wasnt all it was cracked up to be, anyway i dont know if the warranty would cover that, you would have to look at the warranties terms and conditions.

Does putting something like the invisible shield on there mess with the touch controls?
Has anyone tried one on an iPhone or Touch?
I had some annoying scratches on my Nano, and an invisible shield actually made them go away. Something about the extra layer of plastic made it reflect light differently and the scratches all disappeared.

hmmm... that sucks. I was thinking of using that image exploit going around so that it won't sync, see if I can return it for that!

Thanks for the tip... I will visit the shop tomorrow and see if I can find something for the screen.

I've used the invisible shield and the one Apple sells in their stores. I don't use a case, and after a month or so I saw little nicks in the screen (unnoticed unless stared at), but I felt it needed something to protect it.
The touch controls all still work fine (IMO, it feels better, like more traction or something) and I haven't seen any scratches since I got it. I'd go with the brand Apple sells (can't find a link ATM) rather than the invisible shield.
