I was not forced to answer a callon the iphone if I unlock it while its ringing

why cantI not get an ignore option like I get with text messages

I must either allow it to keep ringing or answer it

can't you press a side button to mute it while ringing?

yes, you press the sleep/wake button on the top right ONCE to silence the call or TWICE to send the call straight to voicemail...pretty much as with any other phone

and dude, not to be a prick, but try a little better with the thread title next time, will ya?

I wish I could disable the external speaker, really embarrassing if you accidentally start playing music with no headphones plugged in.
we don't have time to stop for gas

I've done that a lot.. especially when I'm at the airport I dont like talking with the earbuds in so when someone calls I pull the earbuds out and then I'll talk to the person and forget I was in the middle of Metallica's "One" and it starts up again after I hang up...

yep you can silence it with the wake sleep key.
