can delete the camera roll pics individually while viewing them on your iphone. To get rid of the rest you should be able to do it with iTunes by selecting "Sync photos from iPhoto" but having no albums selected.

it puts your entire library back on the iphone? It shouldn't do that. If you chose to Sync "Selected albums" then it should only copy photos from the specific albums you check off. I haven't tried it , but you could try to copy the photos you want to a different folder then sync from that folder instead of iPhoto, just to see if it works.

i did sync selected folders same problem, then i renamed the folder and synced that one same deal. Is there no way around this? i don't need two albums with the same pics.

just found this on the apple forums, guess there is no way around it. Oh well not too terrible I guess. I'm just anal about my stuff lol.

You are importing or transferring a single photo album or folder.

The iPhone is designed for multiple photo albums or folders but all photos available in all albums or folders will also be available in the Photo Library.

Say I have 60 photos total spread out among 3 photo albums or folders. It will be as follows:

Photo Library (60)
Album 1 (20)
Album 2 (20)
Album 3 (20)

I can view the 20 photos in Album 2 only or all 60 photos at a time available in all photo albums or folders.

The same with iTunes Playlists and the main iTunes library.

oh, sorry man. I thought you meant the reverse - where your iPhone was getting your entire iPhoto library. Yes, iPhoto must contain everything, not just the albums selected to sync.
