Has anyone else in the UK had problems when buying the iPhone from the Carphone Warehouse? I spent about 1.5-2 hours in the store waiting for their crashed systems to come back online and also arguing that I didn't want to buy phone insurance (which the salesman said was mandatory on iPhones). I eventually got him to stop pestering me about the insurance, but after waiting another 30 or so minutes for the payment to go through I decided to leave. This wasn't on launch night either so I doubt high volumes of sales caused the checkouts to break.

Just wondering if I'm the only one that experienced this - it'd be nice to hear other people's horror stories (if there are any )

As a rule of thumb, I'd just avoid the Carphone Warehouse altogether and buy it from an o2 or Apple store, I've never had a good experience with them. If it's not a forceful store rep, it's one that doesn't know anything! Do yourself a favor and go to an apple store and get treated as you'd expect

I can't even begin to explain how much I hate phone shop reps, they never shut up and hang outside the bloody shop waiting to top their commission for that month

Hehe... yeah, the only reason I went to the CPWH is because it meant I didn't have to pay for parking (and the nearest Apple store to me is 40+ miles away at Lakeside). In the end, yeah, I went to O2 and was in and out of the store within 10 minutes!
