Is it because its the holidays? I always noticed that apple prices never went down no matter what time of the year it is.

Where are you looking? Apple Store prices are the same as usual...

They are exactly the same at all the stores as far as I can tell. Best Buy, Circuit City, MacConnection, Walmart, and the other stores seem to be normal priced.

What? I am looking at the best buy website right now and it says all ipods for sale the touch starts at 284 same for circuit city and amazon. When I see stores doing this I start to think they are trying to get rid of what they have in stock but isn't it to early for an update?

Hmm, I was just in these stores yesterday and they were normal. It must be a web-only special. It's not a huge sale. They are just trying to get as many sales in as possible, most likely.

$284 for the iPod Touch has been the typical Amazon price since it was introduced. Amazon usually has classics and nanos for about $10 less than full list; the Touch is often $15 off for silver and $20 off for black.

Looks like WMT, BBY, and others are price-matching AMZN.
