I see that there's a new version of iTunes out this morning. I also happened to notice an interesting update "International iPhone activation". I can't find any more information about what this actually means however. I'm in canada and have been waiting for rogers to begin selling the iPhone but I'm really starting to get impatient. Does this update mean I can buy an iPhone in the states and activate it for use on the Rogers network?? I don't want to void the warranty with a unlock or jailbreak hack so I've been waiting. But this update, is it the answer to my prayers???

Yeah, I noticed that a few hours later... there seemed to be an awful lot of posts about 7.5 for it to only be out for a few hours. Too bad, although I still don't understand why they don't do just that. ie allow the iPhone to be activated wherever there isn't existing contracts binding the phone's usage to one carrier or another. They don't even need to officially sell the iPhone there, but at least let people activate and use it.

Here's to hoping something will be announced in Feb!

Your mistake is thinking that Apple sold the iPhone to you.

In fact, they sold YOU to AT&T.

In return, the carriers are doing Apple *huge* favors - but only because they have exclusive deals.
