I am in danger of giving into temptation to get an iPhone now rather than being sensible and waiting until it is 32GB and 3G with a video camera. Would appreciate help with a couple of questions which might help my decision:

1. How is EDGE for speed when using YouTube or streaming podcasts? I use a Blackberry for work which has EDGE for basic internet browsing and it’s OK (and faster than the EDGE service I got when I lived in the US last year) but not great, so just wondered how it was for some of the multimedia functions.

2. Does anyone know the position for O2 contracts and upgrading iPhones? If I get one now and then am unable to resist the temptation to get a new iPhone when the next version comes out (probably a week later), am I likely to be able to just extend my existing contract to 18 months from the date of my most recent purchase? I think existing O2 customers were able to do that, or at least just add on a data plan, so I assume this is OK.

Thanks in advance for any help.
