Does anyone know how to get Push e-mail to work to an iPhone on .Mac?

It seems to work for Yahoo, but I can't seem to get it to work with my .Mac e-mail account.

Push e-mail isn't available for .mac customers. Yep, it's lame.

if .mac gave us imap push email i'd gladly pay $49 a year, not $99. I used to have .mac back when it was itools and was free, then they suckered me into it at $49 half off the $99 for existing customers, then I didn't wan't to lose my email so I paid $99 and finally gave it up for gmail. Which I like better than .mac, just wish it was push. How hard could that be to set up? Shouldn't the iphone include 1 yr of .mac email free? Steve are you listening?

That .Mac and push mail for the iPhone don't work together is insane. Apple's completely disconnected internally.

Reminds me of the Mac + iSight + FW iPod debacle; three Apple products, Apple's favorite bus, and nothin but trouble.

I don't mind paying for .Mac. I use most of the services. Not having push is a bit lame though. Unfortunately my Yahoo account is my "public" account. All of my spam goes there. I'd like to turn push *OFF* for my Yahoo account and *ON* for my (private) .mac account. Sheesh. Everything is back asswards.

Now that Microsoft is buying Yahoo, I sincerely hope Apple considers adding push to .Mac. I'd hate to see the ONLY push provider for the iPhone be Microsoft.

What's the point of push e-mail when you can't hear the damn e-mail notifier anyway? We're 6, 7 months into this iPhone thing and we still don't have an e-mail chime a normal person can hear in a normal, everyday environment.

If my phone is on my desk and the room is relatively quiet, sure I can hear e-mail coming in. Try that now in the cabin of a car, with the radio on or just walking around, with the iPhone in your pocket. As a former BlackBerry user, I know it can be done. Apple just hasn't figured it out yet.

We have custom ringtones now... How hard would it be to have custom e-mail and SMS tones, as well? One of those ear-splitting, nasty Nokia tones would be perfect. There's nothin' subtle about 'em.

I hear the iPhone when a Yahoo Push e-mail comes in. (Which is unfortunate, because Yahoo is my "public" account ... so it gets all the SPAM.)

Now that we will have push email thru Microsoft's Exchange this summer, I'm wondering if our .mac emails will have the push capability?

DigitalEl, I'm sure we've agreed on this point here on MacNN forums before, but I'm going to agree again...

It's extremely annoying that I can't hear my email tone... I could always hear my Windows Mobile phones and my Blackberry... but my $400+tax iPhone can't be heard... unbelievable...

Turn the volume up? Set it to vibrate? I can hear my dad's half a block away.
