Is there a way to make the double click home button pause/play the audio.

It would be great to be able to do this as I could turn the ipod off at night without having to wake myself up by looking at the screen.

Any ideas?

Sounds like an interesting idea - perhaps in a future software update. I haven't really used it yet, but I would hope the alarm clock function would display the clock while ringing.
