Hello. I have wi-fi at home and at work. Today i noticed that when i connected to the wifi network and started browsing it tells me" safari can't open page because it cannot find the server". My laptop worked and my nokia phone also. I tried it at home, knowing that it has been working since i installed my wi fi router. Still the same response. Went to drink a cup of coffee and still..it connected to the newtwork...i had full signal but no response. What must be done?
I know it worked. I own it for 2 months and there were no problems surfing the net until recently when i saw that although i was connected to a wi fi network, when i checked my mail the edge would come into action.
Thank you

That's happened to me a few times here at home, and I'll usually reset my iPhone and it gets rid of that message. I'm not sure if it's a cache thing, or whether Safari is remembering the wrong settings between sessions.
I've noticed it mostly whenever I go between different hotspots, and some are secured, etc., then I come back home. It's not often, but it has happened.

Thanks for our response. Unfortunately this didn't work for me. Just tried it. I also reset my setting beside resetting the phone. Still the same error shows up. It getting me concerned. I have a lot of data on my iphone and would not like to restore it. Isn't there anything else that can be done?

Personally, I think the Safari/wifi function is always hit and miss, pretty much unreliable. Oh, and sloooow.
I am disappointed and have mine for sale. Maybe next time.

I often see this message if the iPhone hasn't got a valid IP address, even though the wireless is conected. You can check this by clicking on the blue arrow next to the network. Try a "renew lease", ask your network guys if they've switched DHCP off, or if you can use a static address/subnet/gateway.

If that's the case then something is most probably wrong. I have no way of telling what would be an acceptable speed for you, but I am happy with the rendering time.

I just had this occur again on our city's public Wi-Fi...a consequent deletion of Safari's cache, "forgetting" the network in my prefs, resetting my iPhone and then picking that network back up again let me view their security certificate page and subsequently log into the network.
