So I have no interest in getting the applications for my ipod Touch and every time I connect my Touch to my Mac I have to go through the spamming from iTunes to upgrade but I just click No Thanks and then iTunes goes to my iPod and I can do whatever I needed to do.
Now when I connect my Touch I get taken to the iTunes store whether I press Remind me later or No Thanks and under Devices I get the name of my iPod but I cannot get to the files.
Before it said my iPods name then under that I had all the options - music, movies, tv shows, Podcasts etc so I could update, delete stuff, see whats on my iPod etc but now I cant.

I hope this makes sense and I hope someone can help me out.
Im using a new 2.4 24inch iMac and yesterday I upgraded to 10.5.2 and iTunes is 7.6

So I reinstalled iTunes and now when I hit the No Thanks or Remind Me Later button I just get an pop up that says An iTunes Store error has occured - Please try again later.

Then it allows me access to the files on my Touch....better than nothing but still annoying.

Am I stuck with this prompt to buy upgrades everytime I plug in my ipod???

I don't have the touch, so iTunes doesn't ask me to buy those Apps... but knowing how Apple usually does things there *should* (not saying there definetely is) be a way to get them to stop asking. Maybe somewhere in the preferences, or an option on the prompt that you missed (something like "don't ask again").

I'd be annoyed too if I didn't want the Apps and they asked me about them every time I plugged in my iPod. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I'm just surprised if Apple has it set up that way so that you either have to buy the Apps or put up with the ads.

The same thing happened to me. It went away only after I bought the upgrade... it's almost like subversive advertising.
