I was listening to CNBC today and I recall someone stating that someone within Apple stated they were not locked into AT&T and could be brought to other carriers. I am familiar with the previous 5yr "exclusive" statements but this caught my attention today.

Did anyone else hear this or could they confirm?

"Apple's chief operating officer Tim Cook suggested that the current single-carrier system in the US -- exclusivity with AT&T -- is not permanent; Cook said to investors, "We're not married to any business model."

Yeah, but a 5-year exclusive with AT&T is not considered "permanent" now is it?
