Hey guys,

To make a long story short, I was using the 1.1.3 firmware when I tried out Ziphone three days ago. It was not for me, so I wanted to uninstall it, which I believe I did with trying to uninstall the programs from the Install.app application. But the icon was still on the phone when I upgraded to 1.1.4 when it came out. I believe I just pressed the restore button in iTunes instead of just upgrading when it was available. I'm not sure if that matters though.

Anywho, two days ago my phone's wake/sleep button is firmly pressed down and it's not coming back up. So I called up Apple and they'll send the box to get it replaced. But I just spoke with a second Apple tech and asked about if this is going to be a problem if I used the jailbreak method (it was the only option I used with Ziphone). He mentioned that the only way things will be fine when the tech team with Apple gets the phone is if they don't recognize or see any changes made with the phones software (jailbreaking). He said that as long as the system is restored and every trace of the jailbreaking program is gone, there won't be a problem.

So now I need to know if what I did when upgrading to 1.1.4 was enough so the techs won't notice that I did have the software on there. Do I need to downgrade to 1.1.3? Or after restoring, choose "New iPhone" instead of backing up my old phone's information? My preliminary thinking is I want to restore the software to do the settings when I first got the phone (1.1.3).

Your input is invaluable. Please offer advice with what I need to do if at all possible.

Thanks.

My advice would be to try a forum more dedicated to this such as:

HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource - iPhone Hacking and Unlocking

or

Software Unlock - Hackint0sh

Loads of information there.

My suspicion is that the upgrade also overwrites jailbreaking. That was my experience with earlier updates. I think you'll be ok.
