Hi guys,

I recently updated a 1.0.2 OTB to 1.1.4 using Ziphone 2.5 (mac). Now, I am based in Cambridge, UK and if I try to use Google's locate me function, Navizon or Soneso's I get really REALLY random results:

1. Google: Pennsylvania (in the States)
2. Soneso: South Africa
3. Navizon: Cambridge airport (which is the closest, but still far off by miles).

Any idea what is going on here? The phone is obviously unlocked to be used with the Vodafone network. When I use Soneso's "Locate Me", if often get a "DB Read failed" error, but it will always place me in South Africa (if only that was true...), regardless of how many towers it is using to locate me.

Ohh, I should say - I just tried out the "Loki" method of locating me from my PowerBook, and it placed me in Pennsylvania as well!

No idea what the heck is going on here.....

Ehh? I can't use google maps to locate me on my computer? Number one on my list "Google" is google maps' locate me feature on my iPhone...

I am starting to think that I am caught in some sort of time-warped 4th dimension maybe...

In the "ziphone vs. hacksomething" thread Ozmiar(?) mentioned that ziphone breaks the Locate Me feature of google maps...

Curious, I tested it and sure enough, google maps couldn't find me. I did a restore of my phone and now it works. So I guess he's on to something...

On your iphone, turn the cellular network off and use google maps locate me feature, it will revert to Wifi location ala iPod Touch.
