hi all. I just got a brand new ipod shuffle (1st gen) 1gb and when i plug it in the usb port on my mac mini g4 (1.5GHz), it is not showing up on the desktop. it shows up just fine in itunes and i am able to transfer music from my library to the ipod, but after transferring music, the ipod icon is not showing up on the desktop. it shows up during the sync, but after the transfer it is not there on the desktop, just in itunes. i got the ipod for the hd capability so that i can transfer work from home to work (as well as listen to my tunes ). any ideas. i have itunes 7.6.1 and ipod software 1.1.4.

My iPod Touch never shows up on my desktop at all. And I have the preference checked in Finder.

ipod touch has no disk mode. turn on the disk mode for the shuffle and then it'll show up on your desktop. I have both so i know .
