Hello all, I have a real problem, I just re-formated and installed my OS X 10.4.11 system, and now when I plug in my iPod and open iTunes it says that I have this iPod synched with another iTunes library, I got rid of all of my music from the HDD when I re-formated and installed the OS because I had it on the iPod, what can I do to make iTunes recognize and use the iPod without erasing the info on my pod.
Help please.
Abdulah

You need to put your old iTunes library back on. And make better titles for your threads... Help!!! doesn't tell us what you want at all.

I would but I do not have that I lost it when I formated my HDD.
I thought that HELP was a very explicit topic header, gets your attention

The only attention such titles get is negative attention. In all seriousness, we have a rule that threads MUST have a descriptive title for that very reason. If every thread started with "HELP!!!!!!" then nobody would bother to open any of them.
I'll fix it this time-it's your one "freebie." But telling people you're asking help from what kind of help you need isn't just our rule, it's simple manners. Think about what YOU would think if you saw a thread with just "Help" for a title... Not likely to bother with it if you don't know what they're on about, eh?

You will have to wipe your iPod then, AFAIK.

AFAIK ?
I do not want to do that, if I have to do that how do I get the files off so I do not lose over 1000 songs ?
I will not use the word help again in a title.

AFAIK = As Far As I Know
Here's an multi-page article on how to recover stuff from your iPod to Mac:
Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide | iLounge Article
Two methods, both covered in the article
1) Brute-force: Enable the display of hidden files in Finder, find the hidden iPod_control folder on your iPod and copy the music files off the iPod and add them back to iTunes.
2) Third-party application like Senuti (free) to retrieve the songs and playlists on your iPod.
When you connect your iPod iTunes will automatically launch. Stop iTunes from doing anything with it by pressing CMD+OPT while you are plugging the iPod in. If it does a sync, it will replace whatever is on your iPod with the new iTunes playlist (and this won't be easy to undo)
