i would like to start reading ebooks on my iPhone.
what's the best solution for a NON jailbroken device?

- email attachment (pdf)
- pdf through Safari
- or webpage?

A PDF through Safari would have to be reloaded each time and then I would have to look for the place where I stopped reading. A PDF through Mail would be downloaded once for good but then again, i would have to look for the place where i stop reading. Finally an organized webpage with chapter would be great but but it will require a loading time for each page/chapter...

There is this place:iPhone Plaza - eBooks but it's clearly cluttered with ads and does not evolve at all with new title...

Do you have any advice?

I don't know that there is a good solution without jailbreaking. This is one of the reasons jailbreaking exists.

I don't think pdf is a good format for ebooks, but it seems to be prevalent. I prefer txt or html.

Mailing yourself the html files is probably the best way currently.

There are some frustrations.

I was happy to find the Filemarkmaker method. I read a lot of classics on my touch from places like Project Gutenberg (text files) and others (pdfs).

Unfortunately, I haven't found a good solution for bookmarking it either. Hopefully something will come along in the next two months.
