I've been a Mac user for many years but at work, I always had to use a PC. This year I changed all of that as I finally worked my way up the corporate ladder into a position where I can do as I please...

I purchased a 17" MBP and started syncing my existing iPhone with it for calendars, Safari bookmarks and contacts. Ever since then, the syncs have been few and far between. Music, video and contacts work fine... but bookmarks and calendar events rarely, if ever, sync. At one point the calendars stopped syncing so I followed directions on Apple's forum and deleted my calendars (after an export, of course) and re-imported them. Now I'm back in the same position, only it's not confined to calendars... my Safari bookmarks stopped updating about a week ago (or best I can tell) judging from the age of the bookmarks. This is especially frustrating since I do dock my iPhone several times a day.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm about ready to sell the iPhone and go back to my trusty old Blackberry. I'd hate to do that, but I really can't stand not being able to sync my calendar events. I missed a meeting last time this happened, and I'm terrified it'll happen again.

Either Leopard or the iPhone isn't ready for prime-time. This is troubling.

Ok, to follow-up on this (so if this page gets Google hits it might help someone), here we go...

I fixed the Safari sync issue by exporting my bookmarks to file, closing Safari, trashing the Bookmarks.plist file in user/library/safari and re-importing to Safari.

I assume the same thing will fix iCal as it did last night.. export all calendars, delete them and re-import. This is annoying, and if it ever happens again I'll probably just sell the iPhone on eBay and get a Blackberry. Apple needs to fix this, whether it be in Leopard or the iPhone (though I suspect Leopard).
