According to the UK Times newspaper. They (and) the BBC website are quoting around £100 for the 8GB phone. Some people have been making a point that Jobs pointedly said 199 rather than $199 but it looks (so far) like UK prices should be broadly in line with US ones.

Hopefully neither O2 (or Carphone Warehouse) will be upping their contracts too much. All things being equal on this my pre order goes in tomorrow!

It's better than that. O2 have a lower tariff now, and are also offering a PAYG option according to their web site (no details as yet). Here's the key info:

w00t! I'm currently running around £55 per month with my Nokia n95. Since O2 say they will break existing contract for free I can get a £45 per contract get more minutes than I'm on at the moment, unlimited data AND a free iPhone.

What's not to go absolutely mad about.

O2 are going to shift a bucket load of these.
