Greetings all,
I was pleasantly surprised to find today that iTunes cannot read the content of my 160 GB iPod Classic, and that it is prompting me to restore to its factory settings. This is not the first time an iPod has done this to me, but the other times I didn't put much thought into it and restored the iPod. With this one, although I have the majority of the music backed up, I have everything set up the way I want it to be, there are lossless files I don't want to have to redo, movies ripped, etc etc.

The iPod still displays it's capacity as having been used, so I know the files are still on there. If in the end I have to reset the thing, then so be it. However, I would really appreciate the knowledge some people have with regards to this problem. Is there a program I can download somewhere to rebuild the database, or resync it, some sort of solution? From what my research tells me, there isn't much hope. However, I know the folks here are very knowledgeable, and that gives me reason to hope. Any info/assistance/help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
