Strange: I've got a few apps I've dl'd from iTunes and, after using them all with no problems for the 8 hours or so that they were installed, suddenly they are all crashing (immediately quitting and taking me back to my Home screen). Even Apple's quite nice "Remote" app (I would've thought that it'd behave like a native app).

None of the native apps are crashing. The only thing I did before this started happening was sync with iTunes on my Mac.

Turning it off and then on again didn't help. Will any of the reset options perform enough of a reboot to perhaps fix the problem, without wiping data?

Bummer, I was really enjoying a crash-free phone (my WinCE phones: crash-o-rama!).

Backup and restore may help. You wont lose anything.

Hiya,

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, after I backed up and restored, only one of my 10 purchased/free apps was restored to the iPhone (I can see them all in my Purchase History). I made sure that I did a sync before the restore.

Any idea how to get them back on my iphone (without buying them again?).

By the way, the one app that did restore (Apple's "Remote") does work fine now :-)

I just finished blogging about a very similar situation on my updated original iPhone.

My thought is that I was suffering from an intermittent network outage. Wifi was up, but with no path to the internet. The programs that failed might have been checking in with the home site and didn't recognize that particular failure mode. In any case, my wipe and restore (or the network restoration) fixed it.

I had several apps that I downloaded from the apps store and ever since I synched with my MacBook non of them worked. This laptop is not authorized with my family iTunes account because we're already at the limit of 5 computers. Could this have anything to do with them crashing? I have just gone in to delete some of the apps and will be reloading them to see what happens.

Very annoying.
