Ok, so I just ordered an iPod touch *pauses for applause*.

I know there is a wealth of information on here about the touch (hacks, apps, etc.) Between the mass amount of iPhone threads and all of the useless iPod threads, I'm kinda getting exhausted looking.

I'm just wondering, is there a good place to start for a new iPod touch owner who's looking to jailbreak their touch and start loading up cool apps? I think an all encompassing thread for such a thing would be a nice idea. But yeah, any suggestions where to start? Where to get apps? Suggestions for cool apps to look into?

iPodlounge has lots of info. Plus, you should look at the app store first before jailbreaking.

ipodlounge.com?

I'm really behind on things. Would I be able to get most of the apps I'd really be interested in through the app store rather than jailbreaking it? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this actually. I'm thinking the only benefit to jailbreaking it would be free apps, as opposed to the app store?

Yes, why jailbreak when there's the app store. Unless you're really into hacking your device there's little need. And with most apps costing less than 5 bucks, why bother?

I see what you're saying. I'll definitely just use the app store and forget the jailbreaking idea. Thanks guys.
