Best Bluetooth headset for iPhone?

I know the term "best" is subjective, but I'm completely clueless about Bluetooth headsets.

I've avoided getting one for as long as I can, but with the new hands-free law in California, I can't put it off any longer. I've heard good things about the Jawbone, but it seems pretty expensive, and I didn't know if there are any models that work particularly well with the iPhone (if it makes a difference).

Any input is appreciated, I searched but didn't find much. Thanks!

Just as a heads up, research shows that using a headset doesn't make much difference as far as safety is concerned. Ideally we'd all pull over to make calls. I know that's not always possible, and I don't mean to get on your case about this, but driving whilst making a phone call reduces our reaction times more than driving over the limit.

To actually give an answer to the OP.

For sound quality, the Jawbone does an excellent job. It is pricey but the call quality it provides is worth it in my opinion. I also tried the Apple BT headset and was very unimpressed. Sound quality was average and it would occasionally just drop a connection while I was in the middle of a call. Had a motorola that was decent, also, but in comparison to the Jawbone, the audio quality of the calls were inferior by an order of magnitude.

Thanks for that info! It sounds like the Jawbone is probably a good choice then. I had read some bad reviews of the Apple headset, and was disappointed because I was hoping it would be awesome.

And I do know it's not good to talk on the phone and drive. I try not to do it too much, but sometimes I do, and now in my state it's illegal to talk on the phone while driving without using some sort of hands-free device.

I'm also in the market for a Bluetooth headset and hadn't heard about Jawbone until now. I'm getting it mostly so I can keep my phone in my pocket and not have to worry about dropping it. I'm a little clumsy with my phone and will sometimes set it on my lap when I'm sitting down, and when I get up, it just goes flying off onto the ground. It's not such a problem when I'm on carpet, but hardwood floors/blacktop. Well, lets just say thats part of the reason why my last two phones have died

Another vote for the Jawbone. I have one and love it - best BT headset I've owned.

Get a second-gen Jawbone. The first is a great headset ... except for the ear piece which was totally redesigned for the 2nd gen.

Unfortunately, no.

The Jawbone is looking really good. I just need to convince myself to spend the money on it. I'm tempted to just get a cheaper headset, but I want something really good that will last for quite a while, so I'd like to get the Jawbone.

Does it only work in one ear, or are you able to use it on either ear?
