I read a review a few weeks ago about a voice recording app for the iPhone that uses the accelerometer in an ingenious way. You press the Record button. When you lift the phone to your ear to start speaking, it begins recording. When you lower the phone it stops.

The app does not record the voice file to the iPhone ... but emails it through a web service as a voice memo to your email account.

Does anyone know the name of this app? I'd interested in getting it.

Note2Self.

Also - note that version 1.1 is coming out with better accelerometer settings, naming notes, pausing recordings, and location saving (with maps). We're a week late on that update from our schedule, but we're beta testing now with users.

Yeah, Jott is a free service that's been around for awhile and is on the iPhone. Fine and does a decent job with transcription, but isn't a voice recording app. Note2Self lets you make recordings that live on the device as well as email them to yourself. There is overlap between N2S and Jott, but they aren't the same thing.
