The worlds first professional new car road test using the iPhone and Dynolicious has been done. The car selected for the test was the Smart Fortwo convertible - like the iPhone it is trendy and stands out in a crowd. The iPhone and Dynolicious performed extremely accurate at testing the cars performance - accurate enough to be the only needed test equipment.

You can read the review and how the iPhone and software performed (though I've already given it away) at MyRide.com's iPhone Road Test:2008 Smart Car

I'd also like to add (before anyone points it out), I am the author of the review. On the positive side, I know exactly how the test were performed and how well everything went. The iPhone worked so well I'll be using it on ALL future vehicle test.

That's very cool. When I saw these types of apps on the iTunes store I was skeptical at how accurate they'd be. This is pleasantly surprising to me.

I wish I had my Volvo around so I could test real GPS equipment against this, but it seemed pretty spot on with my Accord.

Garage 419 pitted Dynolicious against the G-Tech device more than ten times the price (via Gizmodo):
