... hoping that the expected Tuesday iTunes and iPhone updates will stop the crashes??

I happen to own two iPhones that I have to put into "recovery mode" - which is something that took me too long to figure out - about 3-4 times per week. Major headache. Takes a really long time to fix. (I can't just restore my phone, but have to set it up as a new phone, otherwise it crashes before the restore process is finished.)

Is there any reliable word that these types of crashes will be fixed?

Well, one would always hope that updates fix these things. I would reinstall iTunes.

Thanks for the response. I doubt iTunes is the issue. I have two Macs and have tried syncing and restoring with both computers. I'm really anxious to not have my phone crash so frequently, as the crashes render the phone essentially useless (an expensive dead weight in my pocket!!). Oh well... it seems I'm the only around these forums who is experiencing this problem so frequently, and nobody seems to have a solution as of yet, so I'll be patient and see what happens on Tuesday.

What 3rd party software are you running? When I was running 2.0.0 some 3rd party apps could crash the phone. It wouldn't take recovery mode though. Just a reboot.

I've had the phone crash on me once, but the apps all crash far too frequently. It is better since 2.0.2 (and many of the third party apps have seen minor updates since I got my phone as well, which probably helps) but still not good.
