So I'm in the Chinese boondocks for business and I naturally I brought my iPhone with me. Calls and data work ok with China Mobile's 3G and EDGE networks. But Location Services seem to be broken which is a real bummer since none of the cab drivers here speak English and I basically need to show them on a map where to go. But that's a real PITA if you don't even know where you are at the moment.

I have tried rebooting the iPhone.
I have turned Location Services off and back on again.
I have tried 3G, EDGE, and wifi.

I don't even get the cell tower or wifi triangulation crosshairs. And I never get to see the blue GPS dot. The spinning wheel below the map just keeps on spinning forever. I'm pretty sure it's not hardware, because in the past it has always worked. Also the past few days while I was in Japan.

Any ideas? Does GPS work at all in China? And what about cell tower triangulation with CM's network?

Geez, I'm really glad I'm leaving in a few days. Anyway, still curious what's causing the trouble here.
