I haven't been able to update my iPhone apps for several weeks. After a sync, I always get the error:

Some of the applications in your iTunes library were not installed on the iPhone because one or more errors occurred.

Then it lists each app along with the Unknown Error (0xE8000002E).

Does anyone know how to get around this?

Same problem here. Take a look at the discussions in the Apple support area, it seems there is no solution for this problem.

Try powering off the phone for a few minutes, then power back on and try syncing again. I've had the problem this past weekend and that worked for me. YMMV though.

That didn't seem to do anything for me, 64. Perhaps the upcoming iPhone patch will correct the issue?

If you haven't restored your iPhone that's the next thing to do.

I take it that means all of my app preferences will get trashed as well? I want to avoid that at all costs if possible.

FWIW, a restore fixed the problem.

I connected my iPhone to my computer, let it do a full backup and then restored it. Amazingly, when I used the backup to recover the data, it even kept all of my app preferences (saved games, stats, etc.).
