I have a similar problem, a friend of mine has a 2G nano ipod, and i don't know what happened to it, but now it's not working, the iTunes doesn't recognize it, and the computer can't format it, and when i open "my computer" and try to open the drive, it says "please insert a disk into drive F:" so I really don't know what to do with it, I also tried to open it from dos, but it also don't recognize it so :S anyone can help with this??

If its still under guarantee, take it to an Apple Store if you can. Have you tried going through the Apple Knowledge Base? I had the same problems and a re-install of iTunes got it working again (after going through all suggestions on the Knowledge Base).

My sister is having a similar problem with her ipod. She accidently unplugged it without ejecting it properly. She has a MacBook pro and the most recent version of iTunes. It does not recognize her ipod and the ipod will not cut on. It is not under warranty anymore. Any suggestions would be most helpful. She's in college and that thing is like her right arm. ;-) Please help!
