I tried to hookup my daughter's iPod to an older iBook running OS X 10.1 and I get an error message saying the disk is unreadable. If I remember correctly the iPod was initialized originally on a PC laptop running XP.
Do I need to reformat the iPod? How do I transfer the music she has on the PC?

Some nanos require 10.3 or higher. Others require at least 10.4. Either way it looks like your iBook on OS X 10.1 doesn't make the cut.
