I am trying to find a voice recorder app for the iPhone that does the following:

- automatically email myself every voice memo I record
- choose the audio file type (format) of the recorded memo

The closest that I've found are "Note-To-Self" or "Voxie Pro Recorder & Dictation"...the problem is that neither of these programs allow you to configure the file type of the recorded memos...

My goal here is to be able to have voice memos automatically emailed to myself, which I can then playback directly from within Gmail's web interface...GMail doesn't seem to offer the ability to playback AIFF files, which is the format both of the apps I've listed above record in...however Gmail does offer the ability to playback MP3 files directly from within the web interface...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Well it's not exactly what you're looking for, but you could try Jott. It takes your spoken notes and transcribes them for you, and emails them to you. Wouldn't be an audio file, but your notes would be there nonetheless...

All glory to the hypnotoad.

I use iDicto Recorder.

It allows you to email your recordings. However, it currently supports only two file types, AIFF and CAF. I'm sure if you email the developer, they can add mp3 support.

What's nice about iDicto is you can sync your recordings through a web browser over WiFi.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

Reqall

You can record your note and get the sound file sent to your email. There is a however a time limit on the recording. Great for reminders .....

Does this app record in MP3 format, and also automatically email you your voice notes?

(or are you the developer of this app just hoping to plug your product?)

I'm just a regular person like you. I have used this product and I like it. It's from a Company I trust too. But to answer your questions, it records in AIFF (and then I use iTunes to encode to MP3), and it transfers the recordings to your computer via wifi, not email.
