I feel like the only guy on the forums who doesn't own an iPhone, and I always get to the iParty pretty quickly (although strangely I have yet to own an iMac), so I decided to put up this poll to find out more about the local iPhone installed base. For the purpose of this poll, if you own multiple iPhones in your immediate family, count them as you owning multiple iPhones.

I've owned a 1st gen iPhone since Sep 2007. It's my second one as the first was stolen. It's unlocked so I can use it in the several countries I frequent. 3G phone wouldn't be of much use to me since I don't have access to the data networks using pre-paid SIM cards.

I love the phone, just wish it was a little snappier. I'm finding the 2.x firmware sluggish compared to 1.14.

Well, I own an iPhone 3G, but recently switched back to my RAZR and use the iPhone without the SIM card as an iPod Touch. I found that, while the iPhone does most things better and a lot of things that the RAZR can't do at all, the things that matter the most work better on the RAZR:

Bluetooth headset: My cat stole my Apple Bluetooth headset so I tried my Motorola HS820. Each and every single time I tried to use it, the call would be immediately dropped. If I turned off the headset, the calls went through fine.

Speakerphone: This maybe related to the 2.2 software, but the speakerphone quality went from OK but weak to godawfulareyoukiddingme with the upgrade. The RAZR speakerphone is also only average, but it works.

IM: The RAZR has Yahoo! and AOL IM clients built-in, that work in the background (hear that Apple? Background apps!) I don't use either one with any regularity, but the option is there.

For as often as i use the web and what I use it for, $15/month for unlimited MEdiaNet service made more sense than $30/month for 3G, which doesn't work everywhere. Plus, I found myself needing to cut back on expenses (heck I may even drop MEdiaNet soon as well). The speakerphone and Bluetooth problems were the real dealbreakers. A full restore didn't help and maybe a trip to the local Apple Store will clear things up.. For now though, I'm on the RAZR.

Cool and fun as they are, I've no use for anything like an iPhone. I'm happy with the cheap little LG that came with our family plan. Honest.

I have a 3G, and the wife has a first gen (she wouldn't come stand in line with me, so she didn't get a 3G).

I have a 3G 16GB. I think the software will come on a bit this year now that there are several phones that rival it now, and morecoming like the Palm Pre. Apart from camera resolution and battery life the hardware side is pretty good IMO. One thing I'd like to see is A2DP Bluetooth but I don't know if it's hardware or software that's missing for that (I'm sure that has been asked before though).

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

I'd say the this poll is going to be skewed towards those that do have them, though, as those that don't are going to be less likely to visit this forum.

Yeah, asking the congregation not really the broadest audience.

Own one, but live in a multiple (OK, 2) iPhone household.
