I have a docking station thats ipod friendly - It charges my 3G iphone just fine - but does have a message saying it's not compatible.

Any dangers with using this???

Thanks,

I use a similar setup and I get that warning too. No problems. It charges and syncs just fine nevertheless.

What it doesn't do is output video to the dock's S-video port (as it would with an iPod video) and so in that sense I guess the compatibility warning is justified.

It gives you that message because the dock may not be properly shielded, and if it has speakers, it may buzz from time to time with your iPhone plugged in. This will not damage either device, it'll just be annoying. Going into airplane mode to stop your iPhone from talking to cell towers will fix this, as your iPhone likely offered to do.

For Christmas I got an H series iHome that had this problem. Because I want to leave my phone plugged in all night without missing calls or hearing buzzing, I exchanged it for a P series iHome, which is compatible and no longer gives me that message.
